С великим прискорбием сообщается, что Вес Вэймиллер (Wes Wehmiller), игравший басс-партии в Duran Duran с 1997 по 2001, скоропостижно скончался сегодня в Калифорнии в возрасте 33 лет.

Начиная с 1997 Вес играл и гастролировал с Duran Duran, а так же участвовал вместе с Уорреном Куккурулло в группе Missing Persons.

А вот кто-то мне по аське базарил, что в Питере, его небыло видно!
Причем я злостно упал в свою душу вспоминая был ли он в Москве.
А я всетаки прав оказался - был он в Питере! Значит свидетели есть!

Этот парень меня радовал, несмотря на то, что ходили слухи о его нетрадиционной ориентации (а может это и правда?), да не в этом дело!

И вправду - 31 января, я объявляю днем траура, несмотря на то что по бокам 30 января и 1 февраля являются нашими ... ИМЕННО - нашими праздниками!

Так что же все-таки случилось? Что-нибудь прояснилось?

ЭТО ОЧЕНЬ ПЕЧАЛЬНАЯ НОВОСТЬ... НО, ЗНАЕТЕ, МЫ ВСЕ ДОЛЖНЫ ДЕРЖАТЬСЯ... МИР ЖЕСТОК... СМЕРТЬ НЕИЗБЕЖНА... РАДУЙТЕСЬ, ЧТО САЙМОН НАШ ЖИВ И ЗДОРОВ... Я ТОЛЬКО ЭТИМ СЕБЯ УТЕШАЮ В ТАКИЕ МИНУТЫ...

Умер он от рака щитовидной железы. За несколько месяцев до смерти он знал, что у него рак, но вылечит не смог или не захотел...

Печально. Я как раз тоже сегодня о причине узнала ..

Wes died of thyroid cancer on January 30th 2005. At the March 6th Celebration of Life held in Wes' honor, his Aunt Sara said, "Wes was a fighter. Sometimes I think that his gentleness and his powerful listening made people miss his extraordinary intensity, focus, drive, and fight - a fierce spirit he brought to his fight for life at the end. He battled the cancer, and then the treatments that were supposed to save him from the cancer, with the same ferocity. But there was beauty and creativity in his battle. He refused to waste away, even when the medicines made eating impossible. Instead, he gave himself the biggest physical challenge, and began a rigorous training, cycling up the side of mountains; climbing above the clouds, loving the feel of disciplined muscles working overtime, loving the views at the top, communing with nature, spirit soaring. Wes turned his fight for life into an extraordinary adventure."

Надеюсь, Весу хорошо там.

Может и не под настроение. Но фотка хорошая. И Вес там хороший, добрый, веселый. Думаю, он таким и был. И когда родные и близкие вспоминают его, то ,возможно, именно таким он и предстает в их описании.

да я согласна, Оля. Кстати, на этой фоте он немноо на себя не похож... Я еле узнала.

Сегодня день траура по Весу. Ровно год, как его не стало.

As you know, Wes played bass with Duran Duran for many years. He was a beloved touring member of the band. When Wes passed away, his friends and family created WESFEST to keep his musical spirit alive. Wesfest benefits a Scholarship in Wes' name at the Berklee College of Music.
