WASHINGTON/BALTIMORE – Earlier today, 99.1 WHFS announced the details of the 15th annual HFStival- the largest and longest running rock concert in the country. This year’s HFStival will take place Saturday, October 4th at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C.

After weeks of anticipation and speculation, HFS revealed the 2003 line up, which includes: DuranDuran, Staind, Rancid, The Deftones, The Black Eyed Peas, Jet, Electric 6, Eve 6, O.A.R., Thrice, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Yellowcard, Citizen Cope, Three Days Grace, and more. The HFStival features three music stages, a dance/rave “BUZ” tent, virtual reality rides, amusements and a variety of food and drink.

The ticket price for this daylong event is $39 with a portion of the proceeds going to the WHFS Station Foundation (for designated charities throughout the year). The attendance at HFStival 2003- The Fall Edition will be over 60,000.

Да, кстати, моя мама тут недавно по 'Радио России' слышала сообщение о Дюранах. Вроде бы их похвалили, сказали, что они отмечают в этом году свое 25-летие и готовят к выходу новый альбом. Вот.

«Duran Duran» признались в любви к Джастину Тимберлейку. Суперзвезды восьмидесятых познакомились с кумиром наших дней на вечеринке. Проведя вместе несколько часов, музыканты пришли к выводу о том, что им просто необходимо сделать что-нибудь совместное. 'Джастин отличный чувак' - сказал Саймон Лёбон, покидая вечеринку.

Блин, я то думала, почему на Лизарде такую бучу устроили по поводу Джастина?
Знаете что им надо сделать? Выступить на следуещей VMA.
Начинают они играть HTLW и тут вместо Саймона на сцену выпрыгивает Джастин в костюме из клипа и начинает петь. Потом на сцене появляется Робби Уильямс в бархотном костюме и начинает петь CU. Ну тут выплывает Саймон и начинает петь Wild Boys, попутно целуя взасос Робби и Джастина...

Ой, только не бейте меня...

Ужас какой-то! Но эффектно...

Не знаю даже, что Саймон в нем нашел. По-моему, в Тимберлейке нет ничего особенного, он не сделал ничего нового в музыке.

The GIRLS ON FILM SUPERSTARS - who recently reformed for a series of sell-out gigs in America - are hoping to recruit the 'N SYNC star for a single on their upcoming comeback album, after meeting him at last week's (ends 28AUG03) MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS in New York, where the band won a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Duran Duran frontman SIMON LE BON explains, 'We went to Justin's party to celebrate winning our award and we had a great night.

'We spent a lot of the night with him. He's a great bloke.

'I told him I think his album is fantastic and we talked about doing something with him.'

Duran Duran have high hopes for their new material, they have already lined up GWEN STEFANI for a track called LONELY BUSINESS.

Michael Chugg Entertainment has scored the double header for three shows in Auckland, Melbourne and Sydney only.

All shows will be stadium events.

Dates are:

Saturday December 6 Auckland, Western Springs

Wednesday, December 10, Melbourne, Telstra Dome


Saturday, December 13, Sydney, Aussie Stadium


Tickets will go on sale over the counter at 9am on Friday September 19 but internet presales will run from 9am Thursday September 11 through to midnight Tuesday September 16.

DURAN DURAN - NOT JUST ANY 'OLDIES SHOW.' Duran Duran fans are champing at the bit to see the newly reunited band live. So far, live dates have been few and far between for the band, first tackling Japan, then moving on to cities like LA, Las Vegas and New York. For those that are waiting for the full tour announcement, just remember, there's no rushing one of the most anticipated comebacks in recent memory. When we caught up with the band last week, John Taylor told us how much time and effort they spent into arranging the live show they have now. (Actuality #2) 'We didn't wanna come back with an oldies show, so we spent a year or so writing new material, which was great. But to come out and play and be in front of an audience and the audience being so, not hungry, but so keen, it's been great. And we fit, man. You know, we fit. There's been a lot of line-ups of Duran Duran, we've all played with different musicians, but this is the chemistry. This is the real one.' Even more select cites will have Duran Duran coming their way over this month and next, but only as part of a few radio concerts. Hopefully we'll get some new headlining dates from the band soon. According to DuranDuran.com, they'll be opening up for Robbie Williams during his Australian dates in December.

Прочитал тут намедни (новости от 20.10.03),про концерт ДД в лондонском Kentish Town Forum. ДД доказали своим поклонникам,что петь они не разучились.ДД ( некогда привлекательные взрослые мужчины-по тексту) завели публику старыми хитами.Далее (лидер группы СЛБ не смущаясь появившегося живота прыгал по сцене и бросался в зрителей:( (чем и кем не ясно).Бурную реакцию толпы вызвал поцелуй Ле Бона и Джона Тэйлора.После выступления СЛБ сказал,что это был самый теплый прием,оказанный на родине.

Им видимо, лавры Мадонны покоя не дают....

Да Саймон всю жизнь на Джона набрасывался...

А по-моему это Джон почти на каждом концерте (по крайней мере во времена их молодости) всем ТАК улыбается и ТАК в глаза заглядывает (то Саймону, то Нику, то Энди - один Роджер без внимания остается, потому что сзади на барабанах сидит ), что просто грех не ответить ему взаимностью!

А,по моему,это у них от души,в смысле от счастья и успеха.Похоже на сюжет книжки из серии '20 лет спустя'.Ребятки рискнули и попали-'покатило'.ЭМОЦИОНАЛЬНО все это.Все собрались опять вместе ,трехнули как следует'стариной',а народ то помнит и любит-сплашной адреналин, ну и от переизбытка чувств........Нормально.

DC Radio Interviewer: Good Morning, John!

JT: How are you?

I: Very well, and you?

JT: Yeah great.

I: Are you fired up for the D.C. date? Everybody here, I daresay, is fired up to see you guys.

JT: Yeah. I’m incredibly fired up. I look forward to playing live more than almost anything else that I do. I mean, I’m so excited to be back on the road, and playing with my band.

I: The band’s back together, and we’re glad to have it! We started giving tickets away to the concert I want to say 2 weeks ago, and the response was INSANE. Does it ever surprise you that almost 25 years after this band was formed it seems as though the following is as rich and passionate as it was the year you guys first started?

JT: Well, I had an inkling…you know, that it might be a really powerful thing. I call it the “Love Train.” We’ve been on the “Love Train” since we started playing concerts end of June-July….and it’s been nothing but… love!

I: I was watching MTV last night, and doesn’t it seem funny that the video for Girls on Film was banned because of its sexual content, and now videos go WAY beyond that?

JT: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it’s funny because the DVD has just been released, and actually the running order now has two sexy videos… Girls on Film is the second video on it, and The Chauffeur is the third, which was a more kind of um….it was чихх-пыхх, but it was kind of very artsy, you know. And I’ve got an 11-year-old daughter, and a 13-year-old, and they’re really on the “train” with us; they’re really enjoying this Duran Duran revival, and they’re listening to the music now, which they never did before. And I kind of hung back as to giving them this DVD, you know? At first I was excited to give it to them, and then I thought….I don’t know that I really want to be…..and then a friend of mine was telling me that when Girls on Film came out, they were in the den, and they were watching it over and over and over again—and they were like, 10 or 11!! I said “Oh my god! You were 10 and you were watching this?” (laughs) ….I suppose I was about 10 when I saw my first porn magazine, in the bushes, you know you’re going to find it wherever, whether someone shows it to you on t.v., or it’s a magazine you find in the bushes on the way to school. (laughs). I’m just naturally drawn to, um, naked people. (laughs some more)

I: I gotta tell you John, there’s something that happens when the girls hear of Duran Duran. I was talking to (a coworker), and she’s a HUGE fan, and even has written her dream of marrying Simon when she grew up, and you know, YOU were MY favorite, so I was just wondering, you know, between you two, who got the most chicks?

JT: (laughs) Well, he got married too early, so it was a one-horse race from that point (everybody cracks up). I continued to experiment for some time. Although, I wouldn’t say that I was HAPPIER than him. We’re very competitive actually, Simon and I. There was a show recently (I probably shouldn’t say this, but the wife’s gone to work), a show we played quite recently, and I started FIXATING on this girl in the front row, right up against the front barrier, and I was thinking “Damn—she’s really cute!”, and of course I became, um, fixated, as you do, and I’m suddenly thinking “…She’s looking at Simon MUCH more than me!”. And then she realized she had a little bit of power, and she was going backwards and forwards from one to the other. And when we came off stage I said to Simon, “Did you see that girl? With the Farrah Fawcett hair?” And he said, “You mean the one that was looking at me more than you?” (everybody laughs)

I: 23 years later and you guys are still trying to one-up eachother!

JT: Yeah. Pathetic. But you know, it’s whatever drives you; whatever it takes.

I: You were with Power Station with Robert Palmer, and we had him on shortly before he passed, and I was just wondering if you had occasion to speak with him before he died, and if you could share what you guys talked about?

JT: Well, I was very fortunate because Robert was in Japan in July when we were there, and I hadn’t seen him for a long time, and we had dinner together, and he and I got to have a quiet moment together. He was as enthusiastic about music and life as he ever had been, and he was incredibly supportive of our band. …(his death) was really a terrible shock . I mean….these things happen (though), don’t they? He had an incredible life, though, I will say that, and he made some incredible music. He’s a guy I think is VERY underrated , and I think he should have been in the Rock-and-roll Hall of Fame a long time ago.

I: (regarding) the MTV music and video awards, you were receiving this huge honor, which you deserve so much, Duran Duran, Lifetime Achievement, and there’s Kelly Osbourne, and then Avril Levigne, and then audio went off—what happened there?!

JT: Yeah! what the hell happened there? (laughs) It wasn’t like U2, when they got theirs, was it, Jesus. You know, the whole SHOW was devoted to U2’s Lifetime Achievement Award (laughs). You know, I don’t really know. I think they were kind of embarrassed. I think they decided to do it, like a WEEK before the event. And I think they were kind of shamed into it, if you want to know my opinion. Everywhere I was going, people were saying, “You’re giving AWAY an award? And they’ve never given YOU one??”... I don’t think it was something that they had been planning from the get-go, when they were putting the show together, and this is just MY opinion, I DON’T know the truth of it, but I think that they reached a certain point, and they knew the band was coming on, and….it was just one of those, crazy, really, because we didn’t have a CLUE what was going on….in fact, when we were waiting to go on, we were waiting behind the staging, and there were five, whattya call them, “Moon Men”, lined up on the floor, and I said to the guy “Hey, we should all go out holding one of those!” and say to them “Look how good everybody looks with these!”…and we were joking, you know. But those were the five awards that they were going to bring out and give to us! (laughs)

I: They need to re-do that (part of the ceremony that got messed up).

JT: They actually did for the European broadcast, they actually got it,

I: …got it right?

JT: Well, they got it RIGHTER. (laughs)

I: Well listen John, we’re SO excited for you to come to town, we’ve started giving away more tickets to the show, and it’s November 9th at the Warner Theatre, and welcome back to the touring world!

JT: Thank you very much. It’s great to be here!

I: Well, thank you, all the girls will be waiting for you in the front row! (laughs)
